Odíhg Hevmā (/hev/ /məˑ/ [therapy; remedy] [yellow]) is a subtropical Small Town located in the Wizkèysè Provence of the Kingdom of Hobben.

The name Odíhg Hevmā is derived from the Tauric language, as Odíhg Hevmā was founded by Brëîd Y̼ùco, who was culturaly Tauric.

Climate

Odíhg Hevmā has a yearly average temperature of 26°C (78°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 30°C (86°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 23°C (73°F). Odíhg Hevmā receives an average of 201 cm/y (79 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Odíhg Hevmā covers an area of nearly 3 km2 (1 mi2), and an average elevation of 6234 m (20452 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Odíhg Hevmā was founded durring the late 15th century in winter of the year 1385, by Brëîd Y̼ùco. The establishment of the new community went well, with no major obsticles durring construction.

Odíhg Hevmā was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the late 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Odíhg Hevmā is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature delicute timber framework hidden behind layer upon layer of finly ground plaster bleached to an almost glossy white sheen, with green clay tiled roofs and decorative brass-leafed trim. Even the smallest, poorest looking structures appear to be expencive thanks to the extreem elegence of the organic shapes and paterns going into their lofty, spire-y, vagly gothic designs. The more well off folks live in identicle homes, save for even shiner trim and a more whimsical appearance to their structures flowing forms.

Odíhg Hevmā is buildings are arranged arrounded a highly ordered system of spacious flagstone streets which form triangular paterns, allowing the incides of the octagons to be common grounds for the buildings on the edges, be it for parkland, yardspace, plazas, or markets. The town is the proud owner of a thick set of fortified walls fashioned from querried stone blocks. While not up to snuff for a fort or castle wall, the town's walls are naturaly much larger than those of forts or castles. Therefore, the construction such a wall is most expencive. Odíhg Hevmā's buget focused wall would serve its community well in battle in spite of looking unimpressive compared to castles and fortresses. Odíhg Hevmā's top tier civilian fortifications has sufferd soem light damage, reducing its function a little in some spots, but could almsot certainly preform as expected... Though some of the worse spots could lead to the loss of defenders lives if attackers identified the weaknesses ahead of time.

A quick look in any direction shows Odíhg Hevmā is filled with vices. There are many taverns, brothels are advertising their services on the streets, cardsharks are plying their illicit trade within public squairs, and every shop has at least three signs advertising various sales on goods. That alone wouldn’t be too noticeable, if it wasn’t just so omnipresent and overwhelmingly how the people of this town live.

Civic Infrastructure

Odíhg Hevmā has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Odíhg Hevmā.

Odíhg Hevmā has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Odíhg Hevmā has a Department of Firefighters, which is responsible for organizing fire fighting efforts during a fire and enforcing local ordinances relating to fire safety.

Odíhg Hevmā has a Hall of Slayers, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Odíhg Hevmā has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Odíhg Hevmā's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Odíhg Hevmā possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.

Odíhg Hevmā has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Odíhg Hevmā has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

The locals are in a state of despair and dull apathy. They've lost the things that used to give them pride and hope, with the best among them carrying on out of habitual duty and the worst giving ready hands to shameful deeds and ignoble acts. No one really believes the future can be better, and most seek only to satisfy immediate appetites.

Odíhg Hevmā's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is famous for its stately symmetry, classical elements, and grand appearance. Columns and pillars, such as Corinthian columns, are often seen supporting open structures or porticos. Symmetry is an important feature of this style, with each half of a building mirroring the other. Domed ceilings and windows grace these buildings, with everything placed in a mathematical arrangement.

In Odíhg Hevmā sometimes, near one of the seasonal solstices, the sun appears to split into three and it rains from a clear sky for several hours.

The Amphisbaena near Odíhg Hevmā are known to be more aggressive than normal.

Odíhg Hevmā's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves consuming a local toxin to channel Abjuration energies of tier 2 via speaking in tongues.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century Loch Mistake began to boil, and released a thick toxic cloud from beneath its waters which was isolated to the area around Odíhg Hevmā, which was swallowed by the fumes for several days. Odíhg Hevmā lost 101 people, 362 livestock, and 86 buildings in the disaster, though it is of note the local plant life flourished after the disaster. The disaster is referred to as the Ill Tides Wind.
